DHAKA: Syria's Government accepted any transitional peace plan that excludes, President Bashar al-Assad, Syria Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem told media.
He spoke on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly a day after the Security Council resolution, accepted the Syrian Government to comply with an international plan, his arsenal of chemical weapons is committed to destroy.
Also the resolution endorsed the result of the Geneva Conference between the Government and the opposition in June 2012, for the establishment of a transitional Government with full executive powers called.
The Syrian opposition, who for two and a half years in a bloody conflict with Assad's troops involved were, has repeatedly said that it does not participate in a transitional Government, which includes the President.
The recent statements by al-Moallem could mean that no effort, a second meeting of the opposition and the Government this year to organize in Geneva.
"For the Syrian people, Bashar Assad is elected President until mid 2014 presidential election will take place," al-Moallem said.
